Locke, NY -- Nine people were indicted today in connection with a Cayuga County methamphetamine lab that exploded in May and killed a man.
Three children were inside Shawn L. Perreault's mobile home when it exploded May 12, starting a fire that also consumed a pole barn, said Cayuga County District Attorney John Budelmann.
Perreault, 47, of 5651 Sears Road, suffered burns to 60 percent of his body. His wife drove him to Cortland Memorial Hospital. He was later airlifted to Upstate University Hospital, where he died less than two weeks later.
An investigation showed that more people were involved in the meth lab than originally known, Budelmann said in a news release.
The following people were indicted:
Dana Perreault, 23, charged with felony unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, conspiracy and tampering with physical evidence, as well as one misdemeanor count of criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material.
Tanya Perreault, 43, charged with felony unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine in the second degree and conspiracy, as well as misdemeanor criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material.
Floyd Perreault, 51, charged with two counts of misdemeanor criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material and conspiracy.
Amber Perreault, 26, was charged with one count of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
Michael Beck, aka "Alaska," 31, charged with felony unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine and conspiracy, as well as four counts of criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material.
John Lunn Jr., 20, charged with felony unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine and conspiracy, as well as one count of misdemeanor criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material.
Amy L. Walters, 41, charged with four counts of misdemeanor criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material, conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child.
Sara L. Townsend, 20, charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material, conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child. Townsend was also accused of possessing methamphetamine at the time of her arrest in the City of Cortland.
Dusten Cobb, 26, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material, conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child.
All of the defendants were arraigned in County Court after being picked up on warrants. The U.S. Marshals Service, state police, Moravia police and Cortland police assisted.
No photo of Michael Beck was provided by Cayuga County jail deputies, because he is being held in a different county on unrelated charges.
