SUPERIOR, AZ (CBS5) - A 40-year-old man was robbed, severely beaten and shot in the neck after two women offered to sell him methamphetamines, Pinal County sheriff's deputies said.

Detectives said they located and arrested a third person, Robert Villalobos, 26, of Superior -the alleged gunman - after their investigation led them to his whereabouts.

The victim had left with the two women, who showed up at his home early Saturday morning offering to sell him meth, PCSO said.

The victim, accompanied by the women, drove his truck to a location in Superior. Once there, the man was shot in the neck and later beaten by several of the suspects, who had previously robbed him, sheriff's investigators said.

The suspects then stole the man's vehicle. The victim walked home and a friend called 911.

The victim's truck was then burned by the suspects in the desert.

"The investigation is still ongoing as detectives are interviewing other possible witnesses," said Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu.

Additional arrests are pending.

Villalobos was booked into the Pinal County Jail on charges of armed robbery, three counts of aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft and an outstanding parole violation.
