HLNtv.com, October 14, 2013

You can smoke it, snort it and now you can get high just from touching it. Liquid meth is so potent, just a smudge on your finger can get you high.

According to KHOU-TV, six girls at Texas City Middle School were caught with liquid methamphetamines. Classmates tell KHOU they were acting very strange. The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office say the drugs were in liquid form on a type of stamp. Now investigators are trying to find out how they got the drug. All six girls have been suspended during the investigation.

According to the Houston Chronicle, letters were sent home to parents about the incident. The principal reminded parents to talk to their kids about the dangers of drugs. The sheriff's office is working to educate parents on what to look for. Click here for more signs of meth use.

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, meth can cause permanent damage to your heart and brain. It can cause malnutrition and weight loss, severe tooth decay and depression. Other serious effects include hallucinations, anxiety and paranoia and hyperactivity.

HLN's Kyra Phillips, Christi Paul, former detective Steve Kardan, criminal defense attorney Esther Panitich and psychotherapist Tiffanie Henry Davis discussed this dangerous new drug on Raising America.
