Speak Up

My name is Kelly. I'm 17 years old and I live in Colorado Springs, CO. I am a meth baby. Nobody knows this about me, except my parents. Both my mom and dad were addicted to speed since before I was born and one of them still is. I grew up around addicts, with a lab in my garage. I've seen people get killed over this stuff, and my family tun into a hell hole. About 2 1/2 years ago, my dad (who I live with) developed a stomach ulcer and had to go to the hospital. He was in ICU for a week, and we were told that the meth he was doing ate a hole in his stomach the size of a tennis ball. Luckily, he caught it before it killed him. The point is, I almost lost the only person who was capable to take care of me at age 15. My dad opened his eyes after this, and has been clean since the incident. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the sad excuse of a mother I have.

Any who, the main thing I'm trying to share here is that meth doesn't only affect the user, it affects everyone around the user. My childhood was basically non-existant because of my parents' addictions. Be responsible.
