Hi my name is Chris. I applaud each and every one of you survivors on this site. The battles you have overcome are immeasurable. I myself am not an addict. I'm writing seeking advice on how to get through to someone who is in desperate need. I have an uncle who growing up I was his shadow I followed him everywhere and grew to respect more than my own father. Later in life my uncle became addicted to pain pills and since then he has spiraled out of control getting high on anything he can get his hands on. He's used needles to shoot up "speedballs" or whatever else he can shoot up. I'm pretty sure he uses meth regularly. Over the past 8-10 years he has been this way. He has three children who have grown up with out him and he has missed out on every aspect of their life. He currently lives with my Grandparents. He is sucking the life right out of them. They have blown through their savings to keep him out of jail. I know they enable all his actions, but if anyone could give me some advice from their past experiences to maybe help me get through to him I would greatly appreciate it.
