Speak Up

Meth, it is something I have never done before. I have never seen it in person. I have never tried to get any, nor has anyone offered it to me. The meth commercials were something I never really thought much about. One of them however, caught my attention. The boy selling his body for sex to an older man so he can have money to pay for his meth. I then watched almost all of the other meth commercials. Never have I been do disturbed in my life.. At first, I thought it was being over exaggerated. I then started to watch documentaries of people who used/are using meth. I was told meth was bad for me. That it can be very addictive, but I never saw the effects until I looked into it.. I don't see the World so grand anymore. I now saw that I had seen what meth does, I knew people who did it with out knowing, My ex.. my friend.. places I've been... people I hung around.. As of last week I have been terrified. If I see someone a bit too skinny, with scars on their faces, messed up teeth, etc. the first thing to come to my head is 'they are probably doing hard drugs.' I live in Colorado. Denver, Colorado is the place to go for concerts. I've been to many. So many homeless people.. they all look so screwed up and dead.. they beg for money.. Meth... it is one of the worst things I have ever learned about. How it came about, I will never understand. This World is filled with people who make bad choices. So, to the ones who are still making meth, I have something to say to you... look at the damage you have caused. Broken families, families being robbed by people on meth, meth babies.. born addicted, desperate people selling their bodies for meth, people becoming broke and homeless because of meth, broken teeth, innocent people getting beat and robbed, broken relationships, death of overdose, suicide, unwanted children... and for what, money? I hope meth comes to an end. I hope that the way to make it is forgotten. I hope the people who still make it get caught and pay for what they caused. I understand that there are other bad drugs in the World. When it comes down to it though, I see meth as something so much worse. Seeing these people who have screwed their bodies up because of meth is very, very upsetting. Their actions, everything... it's something I never would want to witness in person. One of my friend's boyfriends told me she did meth. I confronted her about it. She said she did it only once. I believed her at first. Then I learned the truth and I no longer speak with her. She lives about two or three hours from me. We had made plans for me to go to where she lived and stay the weekend with her... there is no way in hell I am going to do that.. not even once..
