The past is practice

We thought we had it all figured out. We told ourselves that we knew what we were doing, and no one could tell us differently! We thought that it really didn't matter, we could never end up like "that". But slowly we fell, spirled out of control... At the time, we didn't know it. We thought everything was fine, until it hit us. One day we realized that we lost everything, and we couldn't get it back. We lost friends, family, money, sanity... and ourselves! Now that we realized what has happened, what do we do? Some of us try to stop, most don't. Some of us want to get help, others actually commit to it. Some of us go to jail, and some of us die. We can't take back what we did, we can only learn from it. Some of us don't even know how to stop, but we have to! We look around and see everything for what it truely is now; friends that don't care, family that have given up on us, and we have given up on ourselves as well. Now we stand here not knowing what to do next, but have a feeling that we might be able to make it..

I've been sober for 6 months, and i pray i stay sober. It's not easy to quit, but it's worth trying. GET HELP! Don't try to do it on your own. Speak up, and stand out!
