NY Daily News, February 19, 2015
A “Breaking Bad”-style, 40-pound haul of crystal meth worth almost half a million dollars was found buried beneath a truckload of broccoli.
The vegetable-loaded trailer was pulled over for a moving violation on Interstate 17 in Black Canyon City, Ariz., at 2:45 a.m. Saturday morning, reports KTVK.
Department of Public Safety officers searched the vehicle and discovered the stash of illegal drugs allegedly packed inside a duffel bag.
The haul was valued at $440,000, reports AZ Central.
Ata Hamed Taha, who was driving the truck, was arrested and charged with possession of drugs, possession of drugs for sale and transportation of drugs for sale.
The 39-year-old, from Greensboro, N.C., also faces charges of conspiracy and control of an illegal enterprise.
He was booked into Maricopa County Jail.
