Mexican methamphetamine is increasingly showing up in Missouri

Greenfieldreporter.com, February 20, 2014

ST. LOUIS — Missouri has long had a notorious problem with methamphetamine made in the state. Increasingly, the state is seeing an influx of methamphetamine from Mexico.

KMOX Radio (http://cbsloc.al/1fzG9fD ) reports that Mexican meth arrived first in the Kansas City area. Now, it's showing up in St. Louis and eastern Missouri, arriving along Interstate 70 or by train.

Franklin County narcotics detective Jason Grellner says that in one case, buckets of what appeared to be paint were actually filled with meth.

More than 70 Missouri communities now restrict sales of cold medicines containing the meth ingredient pseudoephedrine, making it harder to make meth.
